DEDICATED ASTRONOMY FIELD Boondooma Homestead allows us to enjoy Bortle 1 skies on a very large dedicated Astro Field away from any stray light. All external light sources on the homestead are turned off during our stay and the toilet facilities are fitted with a red light. The caretakers are very accommodating with our need for a dark environment. On the off chance there are other independent campers staying there, they are located at the other end of the complex well away from the Astro Field and are very amenable to restricting their white light to the inside of their caravans, especially if we offer them a look through the telescopes. The Astro Field provides exceptional 360° views of the night sky. |
